How to create reward automations in Joy & Shopify Flow integration
Before you can create reward automations, you need to make successful integration between Joy and Shopify Flow
Thanks to the integration, you can reward customers when these events occur:
- 7 days before customer’s birthday
- Customer’s birthday
- Customers have enough points for reward
Step 1: Integrate Joy
Step 2: Create custom automations for loyalty reward
7 days before customer’s birthday
- Select create workflow > select a trigger
At Install app triggers, select Joy Loyalty app > select 7 days before customer's birthday
At Action step, please select Add point
Complete Add point information
- Points to give: The number of points that customer receive when joining the workflow
- Reason: Specify the reason for point reward. Customers can find this information at History tab or via email notification
- Email address of the customer to add points to: Enter customer's email or use {{customerEmail}} variable to send email notification to customers who receive points.
- Click Turn on workflow to allow the system to send points with email notification 7 days before customer's birthday
Customer's birthday
- Select create workflow > select a trigger
- At Installed app triggers, please select Joy Loyalty app > select Customer's birthday
At Action step, please select Add point

Customer has enough points for reward
- Select create workflow > select a trigger
At Installed app triggers, please select Joy Loyalty app > select Customer has enough points for reward
At Action step, please select Add point

- Email address of the customer to add points to: Enter customer's email or use {{customerEmail}} variable to send email notification to customers who receive points.
- Click Turn on workflow to allow the system to send points with email notification when customers have enough points for reward
Substract points
- Select Create workflow > Select a trigger
- Choose a trigger:
For example: Shopify > Order canceled
Select Then > Action > In Installed App Actions, choose the Joy Loyalty app > Select Subtract Point.
Action: Subtract Point
oints to Subtract: The number of points the customer will be deducted when joining the workflow.
Reason: Provide an additional reason for the customer's point deduction. This information will be sent to the customer in the History.
Email Address of the Customer to Add Points to: Enter the email address or use the variable {{customerEmail}} to send emails to customers who have points deducted. (Coming soon)
- Click Turn on Workflow to activate the workflow. Customers will have points deducted from their total rewards when canceling an order.
Step 3: Double check
To make sure that email notification will be sent to customers, you have to fullfil Email address of the customer to add points to and enable Notification at Joy Loyalty app
